Abstract: 

Background and Objectives: The purpose of the present study is to evaluate the internal and external efficiency of the master course of curriculum planning in the Nasibeh Campus of Farhangian University. Methods: The present study was an applied onein terms of its purpose and a descriptive survey in terms of its implementation. The population of the study included the current and graduate students of the curriculum planning master’s at Nasibeh Campus - attending the university from 2015 to 2019 (N=36). As the population was small, the census sampling technique was implemented. The internal efficiency of the course was evaluated based on the documents available in the educational files of the students and graduates. Furthermore, the external efficiency was investigated using a researcher-made questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was assessed using face and content validity criteria. The reliability of the questionnaire was determined at 0.89 using Cronbach’s Alpha. The internal efficiency was evaluated using standard formulas. Moreover, the analysis of the questionnaire data was carried out using SPSS Statistics. Findings: the findings of the present study showed that the mean grade of the courses was 17.72 (88.6%). In the investigated period, the rate of loss was 2.57, the average length of the course was 4.96 semesters, the rates of passed and failed credits were 99.65% and 0.35%, respectively, and the rates of passed and failed courses were 99.69% and 0.31%, respectively. Furthermore, the rates of individual pass and fail were 99.65% and 0.35%, respectively. On this basis, the coefficient of internal efficiency was determined at 82.1%. The external efficiency of the course was determined at 53.1%. Thus, as 46.9% of the external efficiency was not fulfilled, it was concluded that the external efficiency was not convenient. Conclusion: External efficiency indicates the real value of educational courses in terms of social effectiveness. The absence or defect of external efficiency is synonymous with the loss of human and material resources in an educational system.

Abstract: 

Introduction & Objective: The university as a social institution relies on specific rules and its own culture. From this perspective, academic culture refers to the system of beliefs, expectations and cultural practices about how to act academically. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the experiences of professors at Farhangian University about the components of academic culture at Farhangian University. Methods: A qualitative approach with phenomenological method was performed through in-depth unstructured interviews with 16 professors of Farhangian University of Isfahan province who were selected by purposive sampling method and in data analysis the seven-step strategy was used. . Findings: The findings indicate the achievement of seven main components of academic culture. Under the title: National and religious identity, cultural values, promotion of research values, education, cultural activities, strengthening material culture, university norms in Farhangian University is the promotion of values that each of these dimensions fully express their sub-categories in research. Conclusion: The dimensions of university culture discussed in this article can be used as a criterion for measuring university culture in Farhangian University.

Abstract: 

With the increasing use of virtual education, it is necessary to examine the experiences of students from the context of this type of education as the main audience. Therefore, the present research was conducted in order to investigate the opportunities, strategies, background conditions and damages of Farhangian University's e-learning system with a qualitative approach and phenomenological method. The scope of the study was the students of Farhangian Shahid Beheshti University of Euclid and the participants were selected purposefully using the intensity and snowball sampling method. A semi-structured interview was used to collect information. After interviewing 13 people and reaching the saturation point, the obtained data were analyzed according to Strauss and Corbin's coding with MaxQuda software. The results of the research showed that various physical and bodily injuries and reduced interaction between professors and students as injuries; Not needing a specific place and time to attend the class and get more information and supplement the lesson with web browsing as opportunities; Creating a dynamic class by constantly involving students in the class process as practical work and active attendance of students with group discussions, reducing class time and using other tools such as images, chat boxes and having questions and answers and fully using the capacities of The learning management system of educators for holding classes was identified as the most important solutions, and the speed and costs of the Internet for students, the way the professor teaches, and using the same teaching methods, and generally speaking, were identified as background conditions.

Abstract: 

A teaching organization is the organization that all members are teaching and learning in it and teaching and learning is done regardless of the position of the people in that organization. The purpose of the present research was presentation teaching ّorganization model for Farhangian Universitiy. This research is an applied one and modeling and based on the analysis of results is a casual correlation. It was done by field study. Used instrument was self-made questionnaire that the superficial, content and structure validity was confirmed. Also its reliability was confirmed using of Cronbach alpha. Statistical society of the present research was all faculty members and the experts of Farhangian University. Statistical society was 3686 people. 418 people were selected using of partial and available sampling method from the statistical society. Cohen table was used to determine the sample size. The analysis of data was done using of descriptive statistics, inferential and structural equation modeling. The results show that the Fitness of teaching organization model for Farhangian University is proper and all the components of presented model are statistically significant.

Abstract: 

AFTER THE APPROVAL OF THE IRAN‟S SUPREME CULTURAL REVOLUTION COUNCIL (SCRC) IN 2011, AND AGGREGATION OF ALL TEACHER TRAINING CENTERS (WITH OLD HISTORICAL AND EXPERIENCE BACKGROUNDS IN TEACHER EDUCATION IN IRAN), FARHANGIAN UNIVERSITY WAS ESTABLISHED AND BEGAN ITS ACTIVITIES IN JANUARY 2012. FARHANGIAN UNIVERSITY (TEACHER EDUCATION UNIVERSITY) IS CONSIDERED AS ONE OF THE FOREMOST CENTERS FOR TEACHER PREPARATION PROGRAMS AND EDUCATION. THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IS THAT EACH OF THE SUB-SYSTEMS SUCH AS SUBSYSTEMS OF EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT, CURRICULUM, TEACHER TRAINING AND SUPPLY OF HUMAN RESOURCES, SUPPLY AND ALLOCATION OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES AND SUBSYSTEM OF PROVIDING SPACE, EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY. Abstract: 

Objective(s): Teachers play a critical role as health promoters. However, little is known on health literacy among students of Farhangian university which is responsible for training the future teachers. The aim of this study was to assess health literacy and related factors in students of this university.Methods: The Health Literacy for Adults (HELIA) was administered face-to-face in a sample 932 students during May 2015. The questionnaire contained 33 items tapping into five dimensions: health information, reading, understanding, appraisal, and behavioral intention. Each item was rated on a 5-point scale giving a total score ranging from 0 (the worse) to 100 (the Best). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical tests.Results: The mean age of participants was 26.03 (SD=9.6) years and almost 70% were female. Overall, the health literacy (HL) score of the students was 67.28 (SD=13.21). Among all students 10.5% showed inadequate HL, 34.4 % problematic HL, 45.1% sufficient HL, and 10% excellent HL. HL was significantly associated with age, gender and marital status.Conclusion: As the prevalence of high limited health literacy among future teachers is a barrier against enhancing the health literacy of students at schools, there is a need to design, implement and evaluate different educational interventions to address limited health literacy among this population.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to investigate the problems of the internship course from the perspective of the professors of this course in the curriculum of Farhangian University. For this purpose, using a qualitative approach and based on purposive sampling, semi-structured interview was conducted with 25 professors of internship in Isfahan Farhangian University. The content validity of the interview questions was confirmed by experts. To increase the accuracy of interview analysis, the peer question method, exploration by the subjects (Halloway & Wheeler, 2009) and the audit trail (Gal et al., 2012) were used. Data analysis was performed in three stages of open, axial and selective coding. The results showed that the problems of the internship course can be classified into two dimensions: “ curriculum” and “ implementation” . According to the results, the most problems in the curriculum dimension, in the component of internship curriculum objectives: idealistic view and personal goals (0. 84), in the content component: student does not pass the prerequisite courses (0. 84), in the component of learning-teaching strategies: lack of familiarity of some internship professors with the method of qualitative research (0. 60), and in the evaluation component: the necessary lack of coordination in the evaluation method was (0. 52). The highest frequency of problems identified in the implementation dimension, including: insufficient cooperation of education in sending licenses (0. 68), lack of vehicle for internship instructor (0. 54), lack of justification of school principals for internship (0. 36), lack of good teacher educator as a model for student-teacher (0. 68), lack of suitable textbook for this course (0. 88), low level of knowledge of student-teacher about the content of textbooks (0. 52), disagreement of in-service teachers in the internship unit training (0. 72), the shortage of manpower aware of the internship unit in the university to solve problems and administrative-official ambiguities was (0. 60). The teaching profession seems to be a professional activity that requires a philosophy to link theory and practice. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to coherent planning in order to provide practical and theoretical training for the internship course at Farhangian University.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility of implementing university-based curriculum planning in Farhangian University. The research method was descriptive survey and its statistical population included all faculty members of Farhangian University in the academic year of 1998-99. From this statistical population, 60 people were randomly selected to participate in the sample and a researcher-made questionnaire was distributed among them. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were evaluated and confirmed. The results showed that although Farhangian University does not have the appropriate facilities to implement university-based curriculum, the faculty members of that University have sufficient knowledge, attitude and skills in the field of implementing university-based curriculum. There is also a significant and positive relationship between gender and faculty members' attitudes (P <0. 05). But no relationship was found between gender and knowledge and skill components (P <0. 05).

Abstract: 

Objective Organizational silence is a prevalent issue in contemporary organizations, and neglecting it can have negative consequences on individual, group, and organizational levels. This research aims to explore the lived experiences of faculty members and staff to identify the factors contributing to organizational silence at Iranian Farhangian University. Methods This research adopted a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. The participants were faculty members at Farhangian University in the 9th region of eastern Iran. To identify the factors influencing organizational silence, a purposive sampling method with maximum variation was used, taking into account participants' educational backgrounds, personal experiences, and perceptions of organizational silence. The number of participants reached theoretical saturation with 16 individuals. The research instrument was a semi-structured interview. To ensure the reliability of the interviews, the Guba and Lincoln criteria (credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability) were applied. The inter-coder reliability was 86%, and confirmability was achieved through peer review. Data analysis was conducted using Smith's 6-step content analysis and coding process with Max.Q.DA software. Results The interview analysis results were organized into three main categories: external organizational, internal organizational, and individual, with 11 main themes and 64 subthemes. In the external organizational category, the main themes are political and social factors. In the internal organizational category, the main themes include structural, communicative, managerial, human resources, supervisory, economic factors, and organizational climate. In the individual category, the main themes are knowledge and motivation. Upon further review, it was determined that the structural theme consists of organizational breadth, decision-making centralization, hierarchical structure, disregard for organizational values, and cumbersome rules and regulations. The communication theme includes external organizational interactions, one-way communication flow, visibility of a specific group, prevalence of informal relationships, use of social media within the university, and negative reactions to colleagues' comments. Several management issues were identified, including a lack of critical thinking among managers, failure to implement ideas, managers ignoring reality, lack of transparency in decision-making, authoritarian management, and intolerance for negative feedback. Gender discrimination in the delegation of authority, lack of promotion based on merit, lack of recruitment and employment based on openness and creativity, absence of a meritocracy, lack of appreciation for employees' efforts, and job insecurity were grouped under the human resources theme. The supervision and control theme revealed that securitization of the work environment, emphasis on employee control, university control processes, external regulatory bodies, and the silent punishment and marginalization of employees are significant factors. In the economic theme, the focus was on rewarding practical proposals, the prevailing economic conditions of individuals, and urgent economic needs such as salary increases and job security. Concerns about freedom of speech, compliance and obedience, poor quality of the work environment, lack of a supportive atmosphere, prevalence of a culture of indifference, and flattery and praise were raised in discussions of the organizational climate theme. In the individual category, the knowledge and motivation themes were explored. The knowledge theme encompasses several key issues: organizational knowledge insufficiency, low experience among administrative staff, attention to rumors instead of official information channels, lived experiences of the consequences of participation, and the inability to articulate issues. The motivation theme includes individual expectations, personal goals, perceived inability to effect change, psychological safety, work motivation, distrust, resilience, reduced self-confidence, learned helplessness, lack of belonging, suppression of voice, job insecurity, inability to voice concerns, work overload, and individual considerations such as expediency, position-taking, and vested interests. Conclusion Based on the research findings, the following recommendations can be made to reduce and prevent organizational silence at Farhangian University as a negative organizational behavior: Strengthening a robust organizational culture and creating a supportive, safe, and empathetic environment. Organizing empowerment workshops for faculty members and managers on the administrative system and familiarity with laws. Decentralizing the university and delegating more authority to provincial university managers. Establishing a suggestion system within the university. Formulating necessary economic regulations to encourage and motivate members. Eliminating discriminatory behaviors and utilizing the capacity of all individuals in proportion to their expertise and skills in university management. Emphasizing the holding of freethinking forums and trust-building initiatives for presenting opinions. Implementing a meritocracy system, merit-based selection, and merit-based appointments, especially in key positions within the university.

Abstract: 

As Farhangian Universities play a crucial role in educating soon-to-be teachers, the program being developed for students of this university needs to be meticulously developed in order to fulfill the crucial role of teacher training centers. Researchers of this phenomenological study tried to evaluate curriculum specified for TEFL students in Farhangian Universities by the implementation of SWOT analysis. Seven professors of Farhangian University in Mazandaran participated in this study to speak for their perspectives regarding the curriculum’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. They took part in interview conducted by researchers and their comments were transcribed to be segmented and codified in later sections. The findings of this study clearly demonstrated that this program suffers more from weaknesses and there are opportunities which might act as compensation for weaknesses and threats. The significant weakness of this curriculum that was elaborated by participants was misplacement of courses without any observation of necessary content knowledge and pre-requisites. Specification of courses exclusively for teaching was mentioned as one of the important strengths of this university. Participants believed that the first opportunity to be made use of, is to maintain connection with other teacher training centers in Iran and around the world.
